Summer, sun, holidays. That’s exactly what the fabric of my new Summer Dress is screaming about. That’s why I bought it on the market a few years ago, because it called so beautifully for wanderlust. The wonderful motif appealed to me directly, I love such picturesque little towns <3

Unfortunately the fabric is made of polyester (yes I know – shame about me that I have such plastic things at home…), but he had to wait a long time for his project. Because I just didn’t want to wear him so much on my skin. But with the Summer Dress it’s no problem at all, because here almost only the facing is on the skin and it’s made of romanite jersey (there’s at least one part made of cotton) 😀

Instead, the fabric falls even softer and better for the pattern, which is precisely designed for thinner jerseys. A true hint of nothing, which nevertheless dresses well. Now I just have to see when I can finally go to the sea myself. While I’ve never felt homesick before, I’m often plagued by wanderlust…

For my standards the pictures are really banging, but hey the new pattern deserves it! A total of more than 90 pieces were made in sample sewing and that in a very short time, so I’m also allowed to hit the drums *smile*.

Whether with straps or like me my version completely without, whether with a bra insert or only simple facing – from the mini to the maxi dress almost everything is possible with the Summer Dress 😉 And before it is said again that the pattern is only for people of my age and with my figure: I also sewed one for my mum (fabric for the second is waiting…) and as much as I love mummy, but she can’t keep up with my age or body size (and that’s a good thing – imagine if she wasn’t much older than me!). :-O )

As you can easily see from the photos, I once again ended up in a photo studio, there I am rather seldom because white wall and I are not quite as good friends. But when the photo wall is pink, yes, that’s where I’m going to be 😀 At Artman-Photography I won’t have stood in front of the lens for the last time, super nice ambience and the atmosphere was very exuberant. You can see it too, can’t you? 🙂

I hope you like my new pattern so much and until Monday you can also benefit from the introductory price!

A few years ago, as a teenager, I had this one dress. Black, strapless and with a neon pink stripe in the middle. Now my newest dress is grey and by no means strapless. But I didn’t want to copy the old one 😉 But when I discovered the great ‘Speckle’ fabric at Graustufen Stoffe, I knew immediately what to make of it.

The fabric has a lot of very small neon spots in pink and green on it. Because in my stash of sports fabrics, among other things, a pretty bright pink had stored – yes, guess what had to become of it 😉 I simply omitted the sleeves and sewed the armhole narrow-edged with the coverlock.

The Saturday Night Dress was a perfect fit for that, after all it has a wide stripe under the chest. But now the side seam is slightly warped because I noticed after the fitting that the pink fabric stretches a lot more than I thought. As I already noticed while touching it that it stretches extremely, I already cut the front and back part 2cm tighter on fold (so in the circumference altogether 8cm), but that all just buffed and in the length it could be pulled like a soft bubble gum as well after sewing. So I cut it open again, cut away 4cm in length (now it’s the way it should be…) and took something away in the width as well. A lot even, another 24cm in circumference of the pink fabric had to be removed and after half an hour of wearing it felt quite chubby again. So I am a bit disappointed by the fabric quality, the next time I run to a better fabric, the middle part will probably be replaced sometime. Unfortunately I don’t know where the fabric came from anymore :-/

But you know what? I still like the whole dress and will definitely wear it a lot this summer. Despite the fact that it is so gaudy by my standards. Or maybe exactly because of that? Maybe also because I feel like a few years back and therefore young and fresh again *smile*.

For today’s photos I mobilized my daughter again, I am really proud of her how great she does it. I really like the photos. By the way, I really like my make-up too, so this time I put a lot of effort into it. Once again it has a touch of festival feeling – I’m already looking forward to summer, when you can hear it from all sides again. That’s why there’s a big Ear-Piece on it, on the other side a glittering star drawn on the temple… Sometimes it’s just fun to get creative outside of ‘just’ fabrics 😉

Since it’s once again a Thursday, you can get the Saturday Night Dress until Monday for half the price as #PatternoftheWeek for you. I’m really looking forward to wearing more and more light and airy dresses during the next weeks & months. The Saturday Night Dress can also be sewn with a lace insert in the middle, then it’s even airier!

I wish you all a great remaining week and a lot of fun sewing.

The fact that I have a preference for black & grey is probably no secret. All the more I enjoy my new Valentine Dress in beautiful grey. It doesn’t look like a grey mouse at all, I think it looks even very elegant, the marble fabric reminds me of expensive houses with noble interior <3

The light offshoulder dress was just perfect for the material, I wanted to sew a Valentine Dress again for a long time anyway. This is really the first one since the end of the test sewing over a year ago!
For the photos I went to our homeschooling room without any children (who were on holiday with my dad) – there are some great mommies and one of them I got persuaded to take some pictures. Thank you very much! 😀

This time I shortened the sleeves a bit more, I prepare myself so diligently for the summer – they just had to be short. By the way, the great fabric was sponsored to me by Graustufen Stoffe – I only recently discovered them (they are also still quite new on the market) and with the motto ‘every fabric contains gray’ I very much liked them immediately 😉

If you want to sew the a dress as well, you can also get the Valentine Dress on sale now, as #PatternoftheWeek it’s in the shop until and with Monday for half the price.

Enjoy the coming soon weekend,

love, Carina

It’s so unusually bright. No, unfortunately not outside. But my dress is. You could almost think I look innocent *smile*. Okay, I don’t think so. But I think it’s elegant. But maybe it’s more because of the golden stripes and less the white underground?

Since the winter edition of the Squiggles from Nipnaps has a slight ‘blingbling effect’ by nature, it inspired me to spice it up a bit. They are used far too seldom, my Hotfix stones. But here they just fit perfectly. The fabric was predestined to glitter a bit more. I didn’t count the stones, but it took me a while to fix them all.

You can’t see them from a distance, but when the light shines in the right angle, they reflect the light and it glitters and sparkles <3 The WOW effect comes out more and more the closer you get to my dress. I particularly like that when it looks simple, but there’s a lot behind it. And you only see that at second glance…

One of the reasons why I like the winter dress so much and sew it over and over again. From the front it looks simple and elegant, only from the back you can see the sexy deep back neckline. I don’t know exactly how many of the winter dresses I’ve sewn in the meantime, but there are some. And there will follow even more!

Maybe it can move into your wardrobe soon too? The Winter Dress restarts in the of the #PatternoftheWeek action and is thus reduced from today to Monday by 50%. If that’s not a reason to grab it now 😉

The fabric was a birthday present from my dear Mrs. Nipnaps <3 He feels really great, all cuddly and is also something good for the environment. It consists of 60% recycled fibres! I like to advertise for it, apart from the fact that I think the Squiggle is really great and I had to add more colors. Soon you will see even more, apart from the Co-Z Men which I already sewed in the yellow version in autumn. You see, the pattern really impressed me!

But now back to work, there are more patterns that would like to be finished and a lot of sample sewers waiting for a selection.
